From the 17th to the 21st of august the 2005 IFCA Freestyle Worldchampionchips will take place at Lake Silvaplana in Switzerland, combined with the European Freestyle Pro Tour. Besides the PWA Worldtour with the worldtour winner, the worldchamp will be crowned at this Event, though some big names of the PWA don´t compete in Switzerland. See daily reports below.. |
The final party of the Engadinwind 2005 was something special, at 2000 metres over Sealevel at the Corvach Skicentre. The pricegiving ceremony had to wait for the new IFCA Worldchamp Normen Günzlein, who arrived too late for his ceremony. But it should be a big party with the two happy german winners Günzlein and Paskowski and the Swiss Ladies Champs Jaggi and Treboux, same as for Yoli de Brendt who got her first podium in her young carreer.
White Mountains, supercold Air and no wind at all made the Organization of the 2005 Engadin Wind IFCA Freestyle Worldcup decide to finish the Competition today with the reults of the Single Elimination, where the men winner is Normen Günzlein in front of Andre Paskowski and Andreas Olandersson and in the women Competition Karin Jaggi will be crowned tonight at the Party as Worldchamp, with LAure Treboux in second place and Yoli de Brendt in third position. Tomorrow there migght be a Freestyle Supersession, but most Competitors will start their Trip home early in the sunday morning already.

19.08.05 The morning in swiss Engadin expected the Competitors with low temperatures, but sun and Maloja Winds, so the Competition could start at 11.30 in the morning with the first men elimination, followed by the women. It got excited since a Worldchampion was to be crowned here in Silvaplana. The Level was superhigh and many high difficult Moves were celebrated by riders like Remko de Weerd, Kevin Mevissen, Andre Paskowski, Choco Frans and all the others. On the Lake with his supercold water Freestyle is a different Story and Favourites may not sail on the same Level, but here they did. All Big names of the EFPT advanced into the Top eight, where some supertough Heats have been seen. Freestyle at his best with the 5.5 to 6.5 metre sails. Kevin Mevissen kicked out Remko de Weerd to leave the Competition himself in the next Heat against Andre Paskowski who should advance into a german final against Normen Günzlein. Andre could not repeat his usual solid sailing and so winner of the day was Normen Günzlein. In the women Competition the favourites went into the semifinal. Laure Treboux against Yoli de Brendt and Jaggi vs. Mindes. Yoli had some real problems with the temperatures and had a pretty bad Heat against Treboux, so the Final was in swiss hands with Jaggi and Treboux and the better end for Jaggi, Yoli finishing in third place. |

18.08.05 Yesterday the 2005 IFCA Productionboard Worldchampionchips in Freestyle started at Lake Silvaplana in Switzerland. Almost 2000 meters above Sealevel the Riders will show their skills to the Swiss crowd in the upcoming days, and this in quite different conditions. The cold temperatures and the thin air doesn´t make the Freestylemoves easier.At the first day the Maloja winds haven´t been strong enough for a Competition in Freestyle and so the last runs of the Formula Eurocup were done. The forecasts are pretty good for the Freestylers in the next days and so hopefully a lot of radical Moves will be seen at the Lake Silvaplana, the setup is done and also all European Tour big names have arrived to get the title. |
