Five minutes Heats, 20 to 30 Moves per Rider and a crash could mean loosing the Heat. That was the Judgingsystem in Freestyle in the past years. A Maximum amount of Moves per leg with only a certain amount of Moves to count and a flexible time is the System since 2008 and makes Freestyle easier for Spectators and Judges and the Riders can go for more riskful Moves. Only one thing hasn´t change, the favourites Estredo, THode, Browne, Campello and the Frans brothers. Yesterday Andre Paskowski and Normen Günzlein scratched on their throne but ine the end failed. Could somebody come as close in today´s Double Elimination ? With less wind than at the last days the Competition started with a longer Heat Duration and bigger Sails for most Riders... With the first Heats underway the wind started to pick up a little but still couldn´t reach the forces of the last days and so not too much Power Freestyle could be judged, it became more technically, like Taty Frans proofed with various Cana Brava Combinations and his Gozada Clock. He managed to kick out actual Worldchampion Marcilio Browne but than lost against Ricardo Campello Campello had already won against Taty´s brother Tonky before and did the same in his next Heat against Paskowski, before he lost in a very close Heat against the second German, Günzlein. Günzlein so secured his third Place and he had be happy with that one, against Thode for second Place he had no chance and so once again it came down to another final between Kiri Thode and Gollito Estredo. Thode started really strong with a Spock Culo and his Airfunnel. EStredo needed some time to strike back but he came back impressive. Out of nothing he jumped a Superhigh and clean Airchachoo followed by a Monster Shaka, Switch Stance Shaka and a super fast ShoveIt Spock. The Judges again needed their time for a decision but they announced Estredo as winner of this Double Elimination.
The japanese Junko Nagoshi showed her potential again, by winning three Heats before Daida Moreno managed to stopp her. Nagoshi seems to sail better and better once in the Competition, totally different to Yoli de Brendt, who sails at Top Level in the Training, but couldn´t win a single Heat in this Competition. Much more experienced and successful is Daida Moreno who now had to face Laure Treboux and both ladies sailed a pretty good Heat with Treboux as winner in the end. The final Treboux vs. Sara Quita seems to be normality already, but this time Treboux gave a hard time to young Quita. With various Spocks, Switch Moves and her first Shaka in this Competition she still lost, but pretty close.
