With a lot of Motivation and pretty excited all Riders came to the Beach this morning, where the wind was blowing for the 3,7 and 4,2 Sails. With finishing another Double Elimination there would be a dischard of one Result for all Ridrs, which could mix up almost the whole Ranking so far. In a solid first position but still not through and so very nervous was Gollito Estredo. With a win in this Double Elimination Marcilio Browne could still the Event Title. Both Riders became even more excited when the PWA stuck the Elimination Ladder onto the notice Board. Already in Round two it could come to the Heat between Estredo and Browne. Exactly at the scheduled starting time of the first Heats, the wind disappeared completely for a while and woudln´t come back with same strength, but at least for a start of the third Double Elimination. The first Round was pretty average sailing and the whole scenery today was pretty calm and relaxed, the only Spectators were the Riders themselves. Bad luck for Local Hero Antxon Otaegui, during his warm up for his first Heat, he twisted his ankle and had to be brought to the hospital. The first Surprise was Mattia Pedrani´s win over Normen Günzlein. No more surprises should follow. The quarterfinals were Taty Frans vs Mattia Pedrani, Tonky Frans vs Kiri Thode, Andre Paskowski vs Ricardo Campello and Gollito Estredo vs Marcilio Browne. Taty, Kiri, Ricardo and Gollito advanced and Browne´s chances for an Event win went down to a minimum. The semifinal was dominated by Kiri Thode and Gollito Estredo and both went into the Final. seems like both have already an abo straight into the Final, but indeed they are the most exceptional Sailors on Tour. With a huge Airchachoo, Shove It double Spock and an Funnel Clock Cana Brava Estredo once again secured his victory and is almost through. It would be his second win in 2008. Brawzinho would need to win against Paskowski, Tonky Frans, Taty Frans, Ricardo Campello, Kiri Thode and twice against Gollito Estredo if he still wants to win this Event.
Women division. To show the Level of the Ladies in 2008, this heat was not enough for Yoli de Brendt to win : Spock 540, Spock one hand, Shaka, Flaka, Shove It and Loop as Moves to count. But something changed today, Laure Treboux lost her Heat vs Daida Moreno and had to be happy with a third Place, but Sara Quita could defend her first Place against a really strong sailing Daida Moreno. Tomorrow will be the last day of this Competition and maybe the most exciting day of all. Hopefully the wind will play game.
