The Action is on, first day of Freestyle at Sotavento. The fins are cut and prepared for Mega Moves and fast Slides. Strong Winds blew already in the early mornings over the Sotavento waters. and at around eleven the first Heats started, but already before the Heats the crowds were courious if Vize Worldchampion and dominator of the 2008 Season, Gollito Estredo, would be able to sail after he hurt his foot badly three days ago. He would compete... the first two rounds passed without great surprises and nice but still no super extreme Freestyle, that changed with the first Heats of Taty Frans, who impressed with full power Moves and Slides, but he should be topped by bad foot Gollito estredo, who went off with sick Mega Shakas, Airflakas and a tweaked Pushloop. After finishing his Heat he needed help to get his Gear out of the water and back to his Ice Bag. To make it short, Estredo advanced also over Taty Frans and Normen Günzlein, who once again managed to kick out Kiri Thode, and so ended up in the Final. His opponent should be his hardest opponent also for the Worldtitle, Marcilio Browne. In a great Final Browne managed to land more Moves in now even stronger winds while Gollito after some massive Shakas and Airflakas struggled with his Switch Moves. His foot seemed to hurt too much. Browne won the Final in a 4 : 1 decision by the Judges. On third Place Tonky Frans, who kicked out Ricardo Campello in the quarterfinal. Campello was the man with the highest scored Heat of the day against Antxon Otaegui.

In the women Single Elimination it became the day of Yoli de Brendt, with Shakas, Flakas, Spocks, Punetas, Clew first Punetas and Loops she kicked out Nina Tjernberg, Daida Moreno and Junko Nagoshi. ONly in the Final she could be stopped by Sara Quita. Quita won by one point and a close 3 : 2 decision by the Judges. The Double Elimination started today and will be continued at the morning of day 2.....
