Day 3 - A Sleepness night behind, the windnoise just didn´t let me sleep and a tough walk to the Skippersmeeting let me know that this would be a really really windy day today. With one Waveelimination already finished, two Slalomraces yesterday, the Judges decided to start women Freestyle, even if most Sailors were already flying with their 3,0 and 3,4 over the water. Welcome to Pozo Izquierdo, world´s most extreme Worldcup !! Already after Heat one, Yoli de Brendt vs Olya Raskina, it became obvious that a high level ladies Freestyle will not be seen with those conditions. Both girls battled hard to perform at least some moves and de Brendt was the lucky winner in the end. Also in the next Heats it was the same picture. Also the Top Riders Sara Quita, Laure Treboux and Daida Moreno struggled hard, but went all into the semifinal, together with Junko Nagoshi who managed to beat Iballa Moreno at her homespot. The wind was still picking up and after some impressive Moves with her 3,0, Laure Treboux became the first victim of these conditions. During a Flaka she crashed so hard with her neck onto the Boom, that it broke apart. She had to be moved off the water and straight into the hospital. Luckily she could leave the hospital the same day without any bad injuries. The Loosersfinal had not to be sailed anymore and so Nagoshi finished third today. The Final between Quita and Daida Moreno started with a strong Moreno, performing ponch, Flaka, various Loops and Spocks but quita came back strong as well, with her Switch Moves, radical Flakas and Funnel she won the Final in the end. After a short break the Slalom Races three and four started, with stronger and stronger winds and super fast Races. Men of the day, once again Antoine Albeau, who won both races and is leading the Competition by far in front of Kevin Pritchard and Björn Dunkerbeck. Albeau has even one first Place as Discard after four Races. That shows his status at the moment. Tomorrow morning the Competition starts with the Freestyle Double Elimination...
