Day 5 - Ladies Freestyle at 9.30 in the morning, wind for 3,0 to 3,7... that´s yesterday´s report ? No, today the Competition started with the same program as yesterday, just that this time it was the second Ladies Freestyle Single Elimination and not the Double. Yoli de Brendt sailed in Heat one and for the first time she managed to perform as she is able to and won over Nina Tjernberg. Yoli´s Team mate Evi Tsape also won over Olya Raskina. But for both it was over by loosing against Daida Moreno and Sara Quita. Junko Nagoshi won again over Iballa Moreno and Silvia Alba lost against Laure Treboux and so we had the same Semifinal like in the first single elimination of this Event. Moreno, Quita, Nagoshi and Treboux. Treboux once again failed against Daida Moreno while Sara Quita even had time to practise Backloops in her Heat against Nagoshi, even if the japanese was sailing really strong. Again it came down to the Final Moreno vs Quita. Moreno crashed more Moves than usual in the beginning but collected points with a ponch, Flaka and Spocks, but not enough against the Funnel, Spocks, Esliders, Flakas and Puneta 720 of Quita, who keeps on dominating the 2008 Lady Freestyle. The next dominator was on next. Albeau won five out of five Slalom races so far and easily he advanced also today into the semifinal, where he made his first mistake of the Event. With a huge Catapult he became last in this semifinal and had to sail in the Loosersfinal, which he won. In the Final dutch Peter Volwater had a solid lead throughout the entire Race, but still got overtaken by Ross Williams on the last track. While everybody was expecting Race number two, the judges switched within 30 minutes from Slalom to the Double Elimination in Waveriding. Some nice Wave Sets were rolling into Pozo´s Bay and waited to be ripped. So did Robby Swift and Yann Sorlut, who impressed most in the first round of this Double Elimination, while Local Hero Eleazar Alonso surprisingly lost against Martin Ten Hoeve from Holland. Pritchard, Siver, Stone and Co advanced also into the next round. After nine Heats the Waves became too messy and it was decided to abandone the Competition for the day.
