Day 5 - The hauling wind, the powerful sun and flying water, plus the competition stress make life harder and harder for the Competitors here in Pozo. But still there would be four more days to go and some sailors are still waiting for more competition to recover and improve their results. One instead is sitting in a more than just comfortable position, Slalom Worldchampio Antoine Albeau. The three Races of today showed once again, that he can be beaten only by himself like he did yesterday catapulting hard and finishing 11th. Talking only about Albeau wouldn´t be fair to the other Racers, like Pritchard, Volwater, Dunkerbeck, Cyril Moussilmani and Finian Maynard, who are still able to give Albeau a hard time on the water, but in the end it is just Albeau who crosses the finish line first. Nine Races and eight wins, that should tell more than words. After the Slalom the second and maybe last Freestyle Double Elimination for the ladies was started, with Alba, Iballa Moreno, Olya Raskina and Nina Tjernberg in the first two Heats. Advancing were Moreno and Alba. Alba had to face de Brendt in her next Heat and Moreno was against Evi Tsape. Moreno won clearly and Alba lost against de Brendt. Yoli de Brendt seems to get more and more in form and so with Punetas, Spocks and Loops she advanced also against Iballa Moreno. In her next Heat against Nagoshi, de Brendt seemed a little underpowered, since the wind had dropped a little and Nagoshi made it right to change her sail and was sailing really solid to advance and even surprised the crowds, judges and mostly Laure Treboux with another powerful and solid Heat. Treboux was out. Nagoshi also in hr next Heat nailed one Move after the other but lost close against Daida Moreno. In the Final Moreno seemed to feel that she hadn´t the slightest Chance today against Sara Quita, who didn´t crash a single Move and nailed, Punetas, Spocks, Funnels, Flakas, Willy Skipper and Esliders while Moreno spent most of her time in the water. The second win for Sara Quita. Tomorrow the day might start with the Wave Double Elimination.
